• Postmodern architecture stands as the second highest skyscraper in downtown Minneapolis with the Capella Tower. Completed in October 1992 the tower rises 330 feet above the streets. The building has an L-shaped footprint, occupying the entire length of the block between 2nd and 3rd Avenues on 6th Street South and between 6th and 7th Streets on 3rd Avenue South. The tower's shape and typical floor plans change at the 15th, 27th, and 45th floors. Seen for miles the unique 45 foot tall semi-circular steel crown serves as a screen for cooling towers and antennae.
• The Pioneer and Endicott Buildings are two office buildings located in downtown Saint Paul, Minnesota. The 1890-built Endicott building forms an L-shape around the 1889-built Pioneer building. The Endicott building was designed by Cass Gilbert and James Knox Taylor; the Pioneer building was designed by Solon Spencer Beman in the Romanesque style; it was the first building in the United States to have a glass elevator. Connected in the 1940s, they are together listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
